Cherry varieties

  • Firm, average flavour. Used as a pollinator.
  • Heart-shaped. Moderately firm and juicy, very good flavour. Stone semi-free.
  • Heart-shaped. Firm, sweet, acid and aromatic. Skin colour is brownish-black.
  • Firm, sweet, rich flavour, good quality.
  • Soft, high quality, juicy.
  • Long-oval. Soft, not fibrous, juicy, good quality. Stone small.
  • Cylindrical. Fairly soft, juicy, sweet, fair quality.
  • Round. Soft, fibrous, moderately juicy, fair quality. See also Mazzards.
  • Long heart-shaped. Soft, moderately juicy, fair to good quality. Stone very large.
  • Short pear-shaped. Fairly soft and juicy, not fibrous, often slightly bitter, fair quality.
  • Very tangy, but sweet by August.
  • Roundish heart-shaped. Firm, very good flavour.
  • Heart-shaped. Firm, well-balanced strong flavour.
  • Firm, crisp, good flavour.
  • Heart-shaped. Firm, very good flavour, excellent preserving qualities.
  • Moderately firm, good flavour.
  • Firm, juicy.
  • Starblush is a late-season white cherry, similar to Stardust but ripening slightly later.
  • Roundish heart-shaped. Firm, juicy, very good flavour. Very susceptible to viruses.
  • Firm, juicy, good quality. Self -fertile mainly grown domestically.
  • Stella Cherry
    Heart-shaped. Fairly firm, good flavour, juicy, good quality. Stone small. Self-fertile.
  • Compact version of Stella, as its name suggests.
  • Ovoid. Firm, fibrous, moderately juicy, good quality.
  • Heart-shaped. Slightly firm, fibrous, juicy, fair quality. Large stone.
  • Firm, sweet, rich flavour.
  • Summer Sun Cherry
    One of the best cherry varieties for cool-temperate climates.
  • Heart-shaped. Moderatley firm, very sweet and aromatic, good flavour. Stone small.
  • Sumpaca Cherry
    A synonym for Celeste.
  • Sumtare Cherry
    A synonym for Sweetheart.
  • Sunburst Cherry
    Round. Firm, juicy, aromatic, very good flavour, Self fertile.
  • Surefire is a late-bloom and late-ripening tart cherry.
  • Round. A little firm, somewhat fibrous, juicy, good quality.
  • Round. Fairly soft, not very juicy, subacid and sometimes a little bitter, becoming sweet and of fair quality.
  • Sweet.
  • Sweetheart Cherry
    Firm, good flavour. Self fertile.
  • Sylvia Cherry
    Firm, good flavour.
  • Roundish-heart shaped. Semi-firm, juicy, very aromatic, good flavour.
