      I just picked up bushels of Va gold where I live here in central VA. The apples are huge, crisp, tart and somewhat sweet. They are not as sweet as golden delicious and remind me of Granny Smith. They're great for pies and baking. Ripening may improve flavor. Terrific keepers.
