Jester is an attractive modern English apple, related to Worcester Pearmain, and developed by the famous East Malling Research Station. The colour is creamy-yellow flushed with red.
Adults tend to find this apple rather nondescript - it is refreshing enough but quite bland. However it often proves popular with children.
The identification paintings in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection span the years 1886 to 1942.
