Grafted this last February... so far the 2nd most vigorous tree in my small nursery. Large, oval dark brown leaves with smaller than normal serrations.

Excellent bittersweet for cider. Small, hard fruit keeps well and grinds easily, good juice yield. Excellent flavor, plenty of tannin; use up to 30% in a blend. (In my cool-summer climate anyway)

The only information I have is from Trees of Antiquity: "Originated around the commune of Bernay, the site of Benedictine Abbey." Bernay is located in Normandy, France.

What is the earliest date Muscat de Bernay can be traced back to?

Will update my account when the tree arrives next year in spring.
