Cornishgold pear

Cornishgold

This old pear tree, growing in a garden in the west of England, was brought to the attention of the famous British pomologist, Dr Joan Morgan, in 2015. She realised it was very unusual, and noted its excellent juice flavors. Subsequent DNA testing confirmed that it was not related to any known variety. The tree itself was estimated to be some 300 years old.
