Visitor reviews
- 16 Apr 2022 SHROPSHIRE, United KingdomThis is a fantastic Mirabelle, best of the lot. Looks like a large cherry tastes of ripe banana. Brilliant fruit, downside is that it's very attractive to Crows and needs netting
- 17 Aug 2013 United KingdomA dud like it's sister variety Golden Sphere. Hugely attractive to wasps and birds. Mealy texture, no juice, unlike Golden Sphere it does have a flavour, shame it's not a particularly pleasant one. Makes a fairly good jam but Herman, Early Favourite (similar to Early Rivers but double the size and much better as a dessert) and even Early Rivers are better for this harvest window. Edda (not listed here, a great dark purple plum) and Opal start a couple of days before Gypsy ends, don't waste your money on this useless plum when there's so many better plums
