Long Hill Orchard and Farm has been in operation since 1896. In 2007 we started our Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) program with our sister farm Picadilly Farm in Winchester, NH. It was a complete success and rewarding for everyone. We are enthusiastically starting the 2008 season. In addition to our CSA program we grow produce and fruit for our farm stand including apples, peaches and pears. There are also many other great items available in our farm stand such as, local dairy products (eggs, butter, milk), honey, maple syrup, crafts, baked goods, etc. You can also enjoy a tasty treat from our ice cream stand (opens in May). We grow chemical and pesticide free produce in exchange for your support of our sustainable growing methods. The shares include weekly pickups of produce at Long Hill, as well as Pick-Your-Own vegetables, herbs, and flowers on the farm. The harvest season will run for approximately 20 distribution weeks, from June to October. Shareholders will receive a wide variety of organically-grown produce. Shareholders are also invited to enjoy the open space of our 150 acre farm for hiking, dog walking, picnics, etc. The benefits of a CSA partnership between the consumer and the grower is the high quality organic produce, maintaining land in sustainable agriculture, strengthening the local economy, knowing your farmer and learning about organic gardening practices. Signs up required before May 15th of tge growing season. If you are interested feel free to call our farm stand (978-363-2170) and leave your contact information (name, number, email address) or visit our website  more>>

The Russell Orchards property has a long history as a working farm. As the third family that has owned it, we, the Russell family, are honored to continue its long tradition. The Essex County Greenbelt Association holds an agricultural restriction on Russell Orchards and consequently it will never be developed. The store is housed in a beautiful 18th century barn, with the original barn boards and few renovations. We carry a wide assortment of jams and jellies, maple syrup, our own honey, several varieties of gourmet teas and coffees, old fashioned penny candy, Burt's Bees products, and so much more. From our winery, we have 21 varieties of wine that are always available for tasting, and we carry a number of wine-related products as well. Watch Cider being pressed on Saturdays in the fall and sit by the fire at our field stone fireplace when the temperatures fall. There is no place quite like Russell Orchards. Come and see for yourself. Call ahead for conditions and hours. Containers provided for pick your own. Groups welcome.  more>>
