Evelina® apple

Evelina is a sport of Pinova, a modern disease-resistant variety related to Golden Delicious and Cox's Orange Pippin.  It has a more pronounced red-coloration than Pinova, with an extensive red flush over a golden yellow base.

The flesh is juicy and has a light crispness, making it easy and pleasant to eat.  The flavour is essentially sweet, with little acidity, although not as sweet (or as crisp) as Golden Delicious.

I have always been (and still am) a big fan of Elstar, but this one is, at least, equally delicious. And it is bigger. It has a fine balance between sweet and sharp and the flesh is quite firm and crunchy.
