Owner's comments

We currently have seven of these trees, on the property when we bought it. They were all moved when they were small from a very wet orchard to a somewhat drier spot around 25 years ago. Half of what we moved have since died or been removed. Largest apple to date weighed 964 gms. The garden that four of the trees are planted in is mulched with pebbles and rocks on top of weed mat, the other 3 grow out of a thick mat of Euphorbia dulcis 'Chameleon'. Both groups do equally well.

Harvest is an estimated yield for a single tree (our most productive one), size is for that same tree. Yield has been estimated because we get a lot of fallers prior to picking the bulk of the crop and possums eat some of them. This season the quantity is up, the proportion with codling moth damage is up and the individual average apple size is down, with most being well under 500 gms.
