Season records for this tree

  • 2023

    Spring blossom: 12 May
One of two trees produced plenty of blossom, the other adjacent to it very little, which ended with no fruit on one and some on the other. Usual problem with aphids on this variety, ladybird approach didn't work very well last year, ended up spraying this year and leaf cover is much better and trees looking healthier, but not much in way of growth from last year, possibly because of impact of aphids and heat and drought conditions last year.
  • 2022

    Spring blossom: 4 May
    Size: 1.5m / 5.0ft high
This variety particularly susceptible to aphids, used mature ladybirds and larvae successfully last year, so doing the same this year. Blossom going over into good supply of fruit buds by 10 May. Later in season aphids hit hard, badly damaging leaf cover, trees impacted badly.
