  • 2020

    Spring blossom: 15 May
    Size: 2.0m / 6.7ft high
Trimmed Mid-March, and again a little early April. Removed the mulch from around the base of the tree. Plan to utilize paper bags and pheromone attractant for coddling moths. Plastic bags were used, and did not need to use the pheromone attractant. New mulch put in place in May. There was a nasty cold snap of 18 degrees two nights in a row in late April, killed a lot of buds.
  • 2019

    Spring blossom: 27 April
    Size: 1.5m / 5.0ft high
    Codling moth: Mild attack
Tree wrap removed April 9th, with particular intent to avoid moths. Also a hail net was installed over the tree, including over the Sundance. This tree was trimmed early April, buds have begun to appear. Fire blight treatment just prior to blossom open, and just before blossom drop. A few apples grew - some were lost to coddling moths. Used plastic bag method of enclosing the other apples, they made a darn tasty pie.
  • 2018
