Owner's comments

2013: This is a very small tree. It grew 2 apples in 2013 and the apples were wide and flat (I have read that this is common in warm winter climates). The flavor is a mix of tart and sweet, with good texture (hard, crunchy and juicy). It is described as self-fertile and heavy-bearing. 2014: This tree may be heavy-bearing when it grows larger; at a little over 5 feet tall in 2014 it has set fruit in 3 places and looks like it will blossom in 7 more. June: I thinned it down to 4 apples.

This tree was late to blossom and its flowering season looks like it will be spread over a long period. I do not yet know if this is typical for this tree here or if it is because of an unusually warm and short winter.
