Owner's comments

Unknown origin (variety is considered to be from Latvia). Introduced to Ireland by ourselves! Ongoing trials and research is ongoing! Fruit medium to fairly large, wide and oblong, mostly with characteristic "single seam". Yellowish-green to yellow when ripe without blush. Flesh slightly sour-sweet to sweet when ripe, very tasty. One of the earliest varieties to ripe in early August, sometimes even end of July therefore as characteristic for summer variety, needs to be consumed in-between two weeks time as this variety do not keep. Tree medium to strong vigor, starts bearing fruit in early-age and very productive however, crops could be biennial in very good years of fruit-creation unless early thinning is performed! Quite demanding variety to soil conditions but reliable once good, sunny spot with free draining and rich soil is provided! Prone to scab in poor and wet soils, medium winter resistance. Worthwhile variety overall, especially for very early crops production and kids love it!
