Owner's comments

Gophers attacked this full grown tree two years ago. There was one main root left. We dug the tree up and re-wrapped in 1/2" galvanized hardware cloth and cut the tree back to near the trunk to balance with the minimal roots. Two years now and the tree is doing as expected after such trauma. Branches have been getting larger and we are not allowing the apples to set so as to provide all energy to recovery. Another two years should have this tree back to producing delicious dark read crunchy apples!
