Owner's comments

This tree is around 100 years old. Our neighbours remember it being at the end of the huge house up the hill (sadly gone) whose gardener was very proud it (it was part of a pair, the other one has been destroyed). The land of the house was eventually sold off and about 30 years ago they sold the last hundred feet or so of their land and out house and garden was built. Previous owners have dug all the old garden up and when we moved in the planting was about 10 years old and just the lovely tree remained. It is now the main and magnificent feature of our newly redesigned garden, cherised and beautifully lit at night.
