Owner's comments

This is the best-keeping apple I have grown. Its main faults - apart from its untidy growth habit - are: over-heavy cropping - it has to be heavily thinned, even after sawfly and june drop; and (in this area) it is a martyr to scab. Where rigorous thinning and spraying are employed, it is a top-quality apple; reluctantly, because I don't spray my apples, I'm grafting this over to another variety this year.
