I helped plant this apple at a farm of freethinkers in Sonoma California. Many of the apples in this area here were taken out to plant wine grapes by gentleperson farmers (as were some lovely bits of estuaries when no one was looking, overnight). The site faces north and is cold and blustery in the winter, the temperature sometimes at -9, and quite hot in summer.
The apples are medium sized, slightly soft, a lovely round shape and color and gently russeted. They're slightly dry in texture but have a very good flavor.
