Ashmead’s Kernel originated in Gloucester, England in 1720. This russet apple is a high quality eating apple. It has a crisp juicy flesh. It is a tart apple with an aromatic flavor. It is also excellent when used for cooking. ‘Ashmead’s Kernel’ Partially Self-fertile - will pollinate with " Calville Blanc d'Hiver", "Catshead", "Golden Harvey" Harvest: mid-October
