Owner's comments

Tree grows under heavy afternoon shade from a large oak tree - afternoon California sun is too hot and intense for cox orange pippin and causes splitting, thus it requires full afternoon shade. Need early Mornign sun to dry dew as fast as possible to prevent disease. The strain I grow has not been treated for viruses (from Trees of Antiquity), the strain from Dave Wilson has had viruses removed in the lab and has been reported to have lost the real Cox orange pippin flavor.
