We are located in north part of Shawnee county and live on a small plot of about 10 acres. We have a variety of fruit trees, including apple, pear, cherry and peach. We also grow grapes, vegetables, blackberries and have honeybees.  more>>

The farm is mainly a fruit producing operation, consisting of an orchard and vineyard. It also provides a yearly crop of asparagus and Asian Pears. The orchard products are apples and pears that are sold via the country store. A by product of apple juice and apple cider are also available. The vineyard produces grapes for table use and for home wine making. Lawrence Community Orchard (LCO) is a project of LFTP, made possible by the City of Lawrence Common Ground Program. The Common Ground Program was launched in 2012 with the intent of leasing city land to individuals or groups for the creation of community gardens and market farms. After the application process, the Lawrence Fruit Tree Project was chosen to lease the site at the eastern end of Garfield St. bordering the Burroughs Creek Rail Trail in the East Lawrence Neighborhood. The site will evolve over the next several years into an ecological orchard with a park-like atmosphere. The site will produce nutritious foods and serve as a perennial food gardening demonstration and educational space for the greater community.  more>>

We offer pick your own / you-pick peaches, apples and vegetables and will soon be offering hard cider made at the farm. We also sell our fruit and vegetables at Farmers Markets in Wichita and Derby.  more>>

The orchards unique name is derived from the scientific term pome (rhymes with home) and refers to the type of fruits that include apples and pears. The orchard is easily accessible to individual shoppers or groups arriving by bus. Area schools often book tours. The orchard includes about 5000 apple trees, 1000 peach trees, numerous cherry, plum, nectarine, pear trees and blackberries. Vegetables include asparagus, squash, sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. A 2 1/2 acre pumpkin patch also draws crowds in October. Their country store specializes in 'Land of Kansas' products including honey, jams, jellies, apple butter, apple pancake syrup, muffin mixes, cookbooks, crafts, fall mums and much more. Our family history is intertwined with orcharding back to before 1826. We have the world's most diverse pick-your-own orchard and specialize in collection, preservation and propogation of endangered apple and pear varieties. As of 2012 there are over 2,000 total varieties of fruit in our orchard and nursery. In 2008 we began benchgrafting fruit trees for sale and to ensure the varieties are backed-up off site in as many locations as possible.
