Owner's comments

This tree was bought on impulse simply for the pollen (the name tag said specifically "Geneva Crab"). We were surprised last year when it produced normal sized fruit, very early in the season. This year it produced a bumper crop in July (again, normal sized apples), which some of our local cooks went wild for, because of the beautiful pink-red flesh. One lady (remember, this is Japan, the land of origami) made some fantastic individual tarts, with the Geneva fruit cut into petals to make a red rose.
