Owner's comments

We bought Malus Avereste on 3.10.15 for crab apples for the birds in winter, he came with lovely red crab apples. Planted today 4.10.15 2016 - no blossom, no crab apples, very disappointed. 2017 - fabulous blossom, cant wait to see the apples. Loaded with crab apples in a dark pink - fabulous! 2018 - no blossom, no crab apples - disappointed 2019 - lots of blossom, loads of crabs, some stayed until spring 2020 - no blossom, just some on one branch so expecting no fruit, this tree seems to blossom bienually

Exceptional blossom this year after a bad year in 2018, loads of crab apples. We do not pick as we leave them for the birds for winter.

    Spring blossom: 2 April
Covered in blossom, best yet. Fed with Potash early spring and mulched with manure so perhaps that has helped, fruitlets starting to grow Covered in crab apples that are dark pink absolutely beautiful, we do not harvest these apples as tree bought for the winter birds to attract thrushes
