Owner's comments

I am given to understand that due to the overwhelming amount of cool wet days in the spring we can expect to treat all our trees repeatedly during the season. We have not decided on whether we will try to stay exclusively with organics but lean that way. I am considering trying to graft a piece of one of these to the Transparent to accelerate our potential fruit bearing. We have been harvesting this variety in Virginia for four decades and brought seeds with us to the place where "anything grows".

Season records for this tree

  • 2013

    Size: 1.5m / 5.0ft high
    Mildew: Mild attack
These are from seed in their third year and did not bloom this season. They are very slender and we are coaxing them along. This variety is unknown by most people here and we are introducing it.
