Owner's comments

Despite being abused/ neglected for many years this tree has produced masses of fruit this year. We have only owned it for a few months, and have done little to it except do emergency work. We cut out the broken branches and a rambler rose which had torn the canopy open and were flapping around in the wind. We hope to prune it properly this year, thin the fruit and deal with the codling moth, then we will hopefully be able to store the fruit ( they were too damaged this year). I've never tasted this apple before but would recommend it as a highly flavoured eater and good cooker.
