Owner's comments

This is my favorite apple tree. I fight an annual battle with every plum curculio beetle in SE Michigan, which descend upon this tree starting the day after petal fall. I use Esfenvalerate for chemical treatment, usually not having to spray after June 10. Despite the curculios, this treee bears heavily, and while the fruit is not 'supermarket' perfect, it is the most flavorful apple I have ever eaten, and the slight blemishes do not bother me one bit. The fruit is great for eating out of hand, pies, cakes, etc.
