Owner's comments

20130410: Covered with flowers. Seems to be a spur bearer. Hand pollinated flowers. 20120411: No flowers this second year in my orchard. 20120310: Sprayed with dormant oil and bordeaux spray. 20110821: Good lateral growth this year. Training branches to grow more parallel to earth to encourage better fruiting in the future. 20110622: The fencing surrounding the trunk prevents animals, and I hope deers, from damaging my tree. 20110322: Planted so will keep you posted on growth and fruiting. This first year (crab)apple tree bore 3 fruits. Nice grower but will not be for another year or two that I will be able to update on growth. Ordered this apple from Trees of Antiquity in August 2010 for Spring 2011 delivery.

Picked the remaining two apples off the tree and will ripen on the window sill a month or two. 5/27/2013: Sprayed with Bordeaux spray after seeing a few orange dots (cedar rust) on one or two leaves. Actually sprayed my entire collection. 4/10/2013: First time this three year old tree flowered. Nehou seems to be a spur bearer. Covered with flowers and set many apples; however thinned to one apple every 5-6 inches along branches.
