Owner's comments

2013/08/10: Had one apple at the top of the tree however it disappeared off the tree around June of this year. Perhaps a bird got it. 20120310: Sprayed with dormant oil and bordeaux spray. 20120416: No flowers this second year in my orchard. 20110821: Nice growth the first year. Pruned and training branches to grow more parallel to earth. 20110322: Planted so will keep you posted on growth and how long to fruiting. The chicken wire around the tree is to keep the animals from chewing the bark off the trees and killing them (that is what happended to three of my hazelnut bushes). I also read that chicken wire will keep deer off (they like to rub their antler fur in the autumn). Ordered this apple from Trees of Antiquity in August 2010 for Spring 2011 delivery.
