Owner's comments

Akane is one of 4 apple trees in my garden. I find that it is a heavy cropper that is VERY attractive to apple maggots. I use this apple mainly for applesauce and pies. I also find that because the apple maggots like the Akane so much, they tend to ignore the others. A nice, easy organic solution. It is a lovely tasting apple and the first to ripen in my garden.
