Owner's comments

True to form, this tree took about eight years to blossom and produce a crop. As of 2014, it has had two fruiting seasons. Crops have been light so far but the quality has been high. 2013 saw many wide swings in late summer temperatures with plenty of sun. The fruit seemed sweeter than typical for Spies, but very good. In 2014, the fruit was more tart, as I think it should be. Flavor and texture is everything I could hope for with this variety. Insect resistance has been decent compared to other varieties in my orchard.
