Owner's comments

This tree is at my Mums house (address above). Planted by her Uncle George as her Dad was at War. Has always been there from my youngest memories of living there. Great for climbing and lovely fruit that you could pick on your way to school. Mum died (26 Nov 2013) and so, sadly, our family home will be sold. I've taken some cuttings of the tree along with the pear tree (planted at the same time -variety unknown) , It is the wrong time for taking cuttings I know, but I am desperate to try to save something of this very happy childhood memory.

This tree is in my late Mother's garden (6 Longfield Ave, Fareham, PO14 1DA). It was planted by my Mum's Uncle George (her Father being at War) and it was planted approx. 1940-41. House has been sold, but I have tried to take cuttings so fingers crossed for my success.
