Owner's comments

This tree was engulfed for years by a huge English laurel. In 2008 a few tall branches were spotted reaching for sun out of the huge ball of laurel. That year the laurel was cut back and sunlight reached the apple tree at last. We have been pruning the tree in stages since then. The apples are few but lovely, half red with the other half yellow with red stripes. Pleasantly sweet and crunchy.
