Owner's comments

This tree is suffering from lack of TLC and little knowledge of fruit trees. I have only pruned it a couple of times. The tree is being blocked from light by the stable building and now a leylandi planted about 40 years ago which although trimmed each year has a height of over 20 ft and quite dense growth now. This year the fruit has been one of the better years although it has a small crop and the fruit is small too. It was probably part of an orchard planted around the turn of the 19th century late Victorian early Edwardian but I cannot be sure at this time.
