Nonnetit Bastard apple
An attractive late-season quality dessert apple from Denmark.
We are grateful to Mr J. Olsen of Vejle, Denmark for information about this variety.
Nonnetit Bastard was first described in 1913 - at which time it was already widely grown in the south-eastern part of Jutland, mostly around the city of Kolding. It was subsequently included in the book "Fruit Varieties of Denmark" by Anton Pedersen, published in 1940.
It is considered a high quality desert apple, which keeps quite well.
The following information was provided by Mr Christoffersen of Denmark:
Also frequent in coastal parts af southern Sweden (I have one tree myself in Kalmar Län) and elected "Apple of the Region" for the region af Blekinge.
