This looks like the variety growing in my garden for over 3 years now. I find the taste to be fresh not sweet - which is deceptive when you pick one with a lot of red colour. Birds and wasps generally get to the more mature (July), fruits before I do. They, even when immature, fall easily from the tree. I find it best to bake or make apple crumble with.
